YaS Interest Meeting

for Teen Volunteers

For rising 6-12 graders interested in learning about the Youth as Solutions volunteer project.

Join teen library volunteers to discuss participation in YaS! We'll cover the program requirements and what type of project teen volunteers would like to accomplish. Please note that you do not have to be a current teen volunteer to attend this meeting but you will need to complete the volunteer registration process should you want to continue with the program.

What is YaS?
NYLC is offering a program to promote youth leadership in the community – Youth as Solutions (YaS) – a teen-lead project open to groups of 2 or more people in grades 6-12 and their adult mentor. Teens will develop a program that positively impacts their community, by addressing Education, Community Health, Environment, and/ or Civics and Democracy. YaS runs Fall 2026 to Spring 2027 and includes training and coaching. Applications for the program are due on August 28th.
