LIBRARY REOPENING

Last Updated: April 4, 2022

On April 4, 2022, all Alexandria Library branches returned to normal operating levels. Masks are encouraged but not required in Library facilities. This follows guidance from the City making masks optional in most settings. Based on the CDC’s COVID-19 Community Levels, Alexandria and most of Northern Virginia is currently at a low COVID-19 community transmission rate.

The Library will continue to follow guidance from the CDC, the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and the Alexandria Health Department (AHD), and will adjust policy for City government facilities as necessary to prevent serious illness from COVID-19. Any future changes to Library operations or policies due to COVID-19 will be available on this webpage.
