This month we celebrate Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Vanessa Hua's latest novel, Forbidden City, features a sixteen-year old girl who wants to be a "model revolutionary" and volunteers to go to the Forbidden City during the Cultural Revolution in 1960's China.  Vanessa Hua is a best selling and award winning novelist.  Her book River of Stars was a Washington Post and NPR best book of 2018.

In addition to this book discussion, author Vanessa Hua will be making a virtual appearance to library patrons on May 24 at 7 PM. Registration link is https://alexlibraryva.org/event/8051407.
