Award-winning marine biologist Dr. David Shiffman clears up any doubts about these mysterious and misunderstood guardians of the ocean.

Dr. Shiffman received a Ph.D. from the University of Miami in Ecosystem Science and Policy in 2016. His publications focus on ocean conservation policy and science outreach, among other subjects, and are widely cited and shared. 

The recipient of numerous grants, he leads and co-leads workshops all over the world. Dr. Shiffman's interests include shark conservation and management policy, the role of technology in conservation, and the use of traditional and social media for science outreach.
