Our last program that features a story, craft, games, and a baking project inspired by a different American Girl™ character. Discover what life was like in Felicity Merriman's™ era this July!

Discover what life was like in Alexandria with American Girl™ characters! This virtual program will feature a different American Girl each month. We will read an excerpt from their book, craft, play games, and explore what Alexandria was like during their time period. July will feature Felicity Merriman™ and what the colonial era was like for Alexandria.

This program will be the last virtual program in our year long series that celebrated the American Girl characters, from our library's sit in anniversary with Melody Ellison™ in August 2020 to our library founding anniversary this July 24 with Felicity - our library's two American Girl dolls! We've left out a few characters, like Julie and Kaya. Check back in the fall for more opportunities to celebrate those characters with the library.

Watch the program video on our YouTube channel. Craft kits are available to take home. All kits include two crafts - one for you and one for your doll or stuffed animal. Kits also include craft instructions, prizes and fact sheets about Alexandria's local history.

Schedule a curbside appointment to pick up your Felicity Merriman™ craft supply kit - just write "FELICITY CRAFT KIT" in the notes field. One kit per child. No substitutions. Craft kits are available beginning July 24, while supplies last at the Kate Waller Barrett Branch.

Contact Miss Vanessa with any questions at vsalo@alexlibraryva.org or 703.746.1744 - feel free to share any comments or concerns about the American Girl History Club program as it comes to a close. Or, let us know what kind of American Girl programs you're hoping to see in the future!
