Manumission Tour Company will lead a 90-minute walking tour along the King Street corridor incorporating stories from abolitionist William Still's 1872 book.
Beginning in front of the Kate Waller Barrett Branch, join us on a guided exploration of real life places that feature in Alexandria's involvement in The Underground Railroad.
Manumission Tour Company
Founded in the spring of 2016, by John Taylor Chapman, a fourth generation Alexandrian and member of Alexandria City Council, Manumission Tour Company, LLC seeks to bring attention to the historical legacy of Africans and African Americans in Alexandria through curating guided cultural heritage tours.

Facilitated by the Alexandria Library, this program is designed to create shared experiences through reading. Everyone is invited to read the featured titles and selected books for younger readers. This year's theme is "adventure."
