Do you want to practice reading aloud? Do you like dogs? Sign up for a 15-minute reading slot to read to a dog by calling (703) 746-1753 or by stopping by Beatley's Children's Desk. Ages 6-12.
Paws to Read is a program at which young independent readers can practice their skills by reading to friendly trained dogs at the library. The dogs provide a calming presence and a nonjudgmental listening ear for kids who are hoping to gain more confidence in reading aloud.
The program will take place in person indoors in the Beatley Central Library’s Large Meeting Room.
PLEASE NOTE: This program is primarily for children ages 6-12, but younger independent readers may also participate. Children MUST be able to read on their own in order to sign up. No reading instruction will be provided.
