Ocean First Research Scientist, Alexa Hoffman, will share career paths for those interested in working with marine life.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a marine biologist? What would your days be like? Do you work in an office or are you in the field all the time? What animals do you get to work with? Do you love the ocean but are unsure if science is the right calling? What are other ways to involve myself in the solution for the climate crisis? If you have ever had these thoughts racing through your head, then you should join our conversation with Ocean First Institute Research Scientist and Educator, Alexa Hoffman! She has a wide background within the field of science. Alexa's journey has taken her from the mountains of Colorado and Nepal to the Bahamas, where she studied sharks in the deep sea. Throughout her adventures you will understand all the many ways to find and use your passion for the ocean and environment.

Registration is required to attend this virtual event. Contact Megan at mzimmerman@alexlibraryva.org for more information.
