Join us as we explore the history of Alexandria’s local African American community through books, stories, and songs.
Cosponsored by the Alexandria Black History Museum and the Office of Historic Alexandria.
One of America's first sit-ins took place at Alexandria Library on August 21, 1939. We will learn about this protest and about the Civil Rights Movement.
All are welcome, but the event is geared towards children ages 4-8.
