Beth Patridge Meeting RoomA STEM program for kids ages 6 and up!
Sunny Side Up is a class devoted to the ruler of our solar system: the Sun! Students will have the opportunity to see the sun up close and personal, through special solar glasses as well as CAPE's 8-inch Celestron telescope with a solar filter. Learning about the sun's magnetic fieldhas never been so captivating when looking at actual sun spots on the surface of the sun! CAPE's solar water heater and photovoltaic cells perfectly illustrate the importance of the sun's energy impact on the Earth. Furthermore, discussing the use of mirrors and lensing in solar farms, students will learn how to most efficiently harvest energy from the sun.
Space is limited to the first 74 participants.
