Virtual
VirtualWhen you don't own your own home or when your condo is on the 5th floor, much of the guidance on living more sustainably just doesn't apply. But there are still plenty of things you CAN do!
Join the EcoAmbassador team to learn more about being green when you rent or live in multi-family housing, and find out what you're already doing that puts you well ahead of your single family home neighbors.
Please register to attend this virtual event. Contact mzimmerman@alexlibraryva.org for more information.
EcoAmbassadors act as amplifiers for city and county climate action programming by engaging with community members and encouraging residents to take more action to make our neighborhoods and homes healthier and more livable. Focus areas include energy conservation and electrification, multi-modal transportation, and waste reduction. The EcoAmbassador program is managed by EcoAction Arlington and the Virginia Cooperative Extension in partnership with Arlington County and the City of Alexandria.
September 21-30 is Climate Prep Week
As a CREW Climate Resilience Hub, Alexandria Library dedicates materials, events and space to talk about our environmental impact, what we can do and ways to support one another. Library buildings are extreme weather relief locations. This year's theme for Climate Preparedness Week is Community Maxxing - Think Globally, Act Locally.
Join us on October 13 to learn about Balcony Solar in Alexandria and Arlington.
