Join us for this virtual genealogy workshop with the Library of Virginia.

Wondering if a story is true?  Wishing for more information about an event in your research subject’s life? Through a series of case studies, Library of Virginia senior reference archivist Cara Griggs and senior reference librarian Becky Schneider will provide strategies for gaining insight into the historical context that shaped lives in the past. They will explain how to find, evaluate and interpret a wide variety of records and publications — from historical documents to contemporary scholarship — to answer your research questions. If you’re familiar with the basics of family history research but want a deeper understanding of the research methods used by historians, archivists and librarians, this workshop is for you.

This event is free, but registration is required. For more information, contact education@lva.virginia.gov.
