"The Red Widow Murders" is a 1935 locked-room mystery novel by John Dickson Carr, published under the pseudonym Carter Dickson, featuring his series detective Sir Henry Merrivale. The plot centers on a group gathered at a mansion where a man is found dead in a sealed, supposedly haunted room, despite having responded to calls from outside, leading to a baffling puzzle involving poison and a historical curse. The novel is known for its intricate plotting, historical background, and classic "impossible crime" scenario.
Mystery Book Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 3:30 to 5 PM. It is a monthly book discussion group through the Burke Branch Library. Note that the discussion occurs on the third Wednesday of this month.
