Author Asma Elgouacem has lived as a Muslim woman in Algeria, France, and the United States. As part of All Alexandria Reads, she relates her experiences, and teaches you more about your fellow man.
From Asma:
My experiences in Algeria, France and the United States have greatly affected my life. The title, "Where is Freedom?" reflects the turmoil I encountered throughout youth and adulthood. As a woman, mother and educator, I have fought for my religious beliefs and social status, under the threat of terrorism, which started in my native country, Algeria, in the 1990's. Now, it has spread across the world. Despite difficult moments, I have learned to survive in different environments. My search for freedom, peace and serenity has made me stronger. Regardless of what happens in North Africa, Europe or North America, today, I stand up as a Muslim woman.
Join Asma for a special All Alexandria Reads presentation where she will share her life experience as a world citizen and Muslim woman.
