Stretch, breathe and cultivate your connections with body-heart-mind-spirit.
This class is inspired by the classical approach of Sri Dharma Mittra. Similar to Dharma Yoga, this gentle yet "forceful" series focuses on both physical development (hatha yoga) and mental mastery (raja yoga) through asana, pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation to bring a sense of well-being to the body and radiant peace to the mind.
Students will be guided through Surya Namaskar (sun salutations) as a warm-up followed by Shiva Namaskar (held poses). The class concludes with an alternate-nostril breathing exercise and a short meditation.
This Level 1 weekly sequence is suitable for all levels, although some students will benefit from the use of blocks or other props.
