Join our Master Gardeners of Northern Virginia for a hands-on learning experience and demo on proper pruning practices
Winter is an excellent time to prune many trees and shrubs! Extension Master Gardeners, Molly Newling and Angela McNamara, explain why and how to prune to remove crossing and rubbing branches, suckers, water sprouts, and damaged wood. They will demonstrate the best practices for reducing shrub size, trimming hedges, and carefully removing larger limbs. The results will be trees and shrubs with healthier and fuller growth, better flowers and fruit, and a more attractive landscape.
Participants should bring their own hand tools and, if possible, join Molly and Angela's live Zoom presentation the day before, Friday, Feb. 21, from 10 - 11:30 a.m. Or, watch their pre-recorded session from two years ago.
