Some Inconvenient Poems
Miles Liss
Death of Workers Whilst Building Skyscrapers Publishing, 2023

Some Inconvenient Poems is a rant, a cry, a warning. It’s a portrait of an America consumed by its own depravity. The speaker in this collection bears witness to the metamorphosis of a democracy into a country on the brink of civil war. - Publisher

Miles Liss is a poet, artist and teacher who lives in Alexandria. His poems have been published in Atlanta Review, Gargoyle Magazine, and The Normal School, among others. He's the winner of the 2021 AWP Kurt Brown Prize in Poetry, and his poetry has appeared on the buses and trolleys of Alexandria through the city's DASHing Words in Motion contest. A past attendee of the Breadloaf Writers' Conferences, Miles has studied with National Book Award winning poet Arthur Sze and Yale Younger Poets Series winner David Wojahn.
