Discover the unique elements of Islamic Art in this workshop led by Zeina Azzam.
Beautiful art from the Muslim world adorns mosques, walls, textiles, glassware, paintings, and so much more. This session will offer a general overview of Islamic art and its underlying geometric principles, including arabesque motifs and Arabic calligraphy. We will cut construction paper into shapes and glue them to make patterns that tessellate. We will also fill in ready-made designs with color markers to understand how the artistic elements are constructed. All materials will be provided.
