Story Room, Large Meeting RoomDo you want to practice reading aloud? Do you like dogs? Sign up for a 15-minute reading slot to read to a dog by calling (703) 746-1753 or by stopping by Beatley's Children's Desk. Ages 6-12.
Paws to Read is a program at which young independent readers can practice their skills by reading to friendly trained dogs at the library. The dogs provide a calming presence and a nonjudgmental listening ear for kids who are hoping to gain more confidence in reading aloud.

PLEASE NOTE: This program is primarily for children ages 6-12, but younger independent readers may also participate. Children MUST be able to read on their own in order to sign up. No reading instruction will be provided.
