1920's Silent Film Screening at Beatley Central

In the 1920s before the advent of the “Talkies”, every theater provided live musical accompaniment at every show. Ben Model pays homage to this lost art, and will be here to play piano for a 1927 film starring Clara Bow. Located in the Large Meeting Room.

For the third year in a row, Alexandria, Va. tops's fourth annual list of the Most Well-Read Cities in America. The top selling books in Alexandria were Inferno by Dan Brown, Divergent by Veronica Roth, and The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.



HVAC work at Beatley Central Library

Learn the exuberant dance moves that were popularized during the jazz era and beyond such as Swing, the Charleston and Lindy Hop.
