Handmade Holiday Card-Making 

Alexandria Library is collecting Handmade cards for donation to the residents of the DC Old Soldiers’ home, one of two retirement homes for veterans in the U.S. 

Join us at any library location below for a special card-making program. Make one for yourself and a veteran! For all ages, registration is NOT required. Supplies and examples will be provided.


Burke Branch: November 9-December 9

Handmade Holiday Card Drive for Veterans
Check out Burke's DIY greeting card display and be inspired to create a holiday card. Stop in anytime the library is open. 

Duncan Branch: Saturday, November 28

Paint, Draw, Color
Saturday, Nov. 28, 11AM-12PM
Participants bring your imagination to create something with the art supplies provided.

Barrett Branch: Saturday, December 5

Handmade Holiday Card-Making

Make a holiday card for one of the veterans at Washington DC's "Old Soliders Home." We supply the materials, you supply the creativity. This workshop will be taking place both in the Children's Room and upstairs in the adult area as well, so all ages are welcome to participate.

Celebrate the season of giving and create handmade holiday cards. Join us for this special Handcraft Tuesday card-making event. There will be opportunities for children and adults to participate in this program. Children 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Supplies provided by UpCycle and Friends of Beatley Central Library.
