Downton Abbey Marathon at Beatley Central

The British are coming! Television's most popular aristocrats in the PBS drama series, Downton Abbey, will be featured early January at Beatley Central Library for a marathon of season three. Screenings will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, January 2 and 3. Tea and biscuits will be served during the intermissions. 


We pay tribute to Former City Manager Vola Lawson

Vola Therrell Lawson, the first female City Manager of Alexandria, died on Tuesday , December 10, at the age of 79. She will be remembered for her impact on the community, and public service activism.  Mayor William D. Euille issued a statement.
