The Alexandria Library system is experiencing a partial network outage due to a data incident. The investigation is ongoing and Library staff is working with cybersecurity professionals and law enforcement to remediate and investigate this incident. The Library is open and nearly all services are available.

What services are currently available?

  • Patrons can browse and check out all library material (both onsite and online)
  • Borrowing of e-books and e-audiobooks on the Libby app
  • Borrowing of technical resources such as Chromebooks & mobile hotspots
  • Access to the Library’s public Wi-Fi network
  • Public computer stations at all Library Branches
  • Public printing at all Library Branches
  • The Library is open and hosting both in-person and virtual programs as scheduled
  • Participation in the SummerQuest summer reading program (children, teens & adults)
  • Patrons can sign-up for and use Library cards
  • Passport processing (check or money order payments only)
  • Customer account fees may be paid by credit card via a customer's online account access or at a branch Circulation Desk
  • Interlibrary Loan
