What to expect:

Please join us for a write-in event led by Alana Tyson, debut author of the picture book "My Red, White and Blue". The program will consist of a 30-minute presentation by the author followed by time to work on your own writing projects. This program is hosted by the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and will take place at the James M Duncan Branch.

About the author:

Alana Tyson is the debut author of the picture book My Red, White and Blue, an American story that helps young readers find their voice and understand those of others. While she’s spent many years as a federal employee protecting national security, her love for telling stories keeps her grounded and connected to the literary space. Her forthcoming picture book, Devin’s Gift is slated for summer 2025. When she’s not cooking up kid stories, she’s managing her non-profit organization advocating for online influencers and content creators. Meanwhile, her two school-aged sons keep her academically engaged and full of story ideas. Visit her at: www.booksbyalana.com or Instagram & Twitter: @AlanaTheWriter.
