In this twisted version of the Sherlock Holmes story, Dr. Watson is the expert detective.  For various reasons he’s been using a bumbling actor to play Holmes and take credit for the crime-solving feats.  When the man’s drunken shenanigans become too much for Watson to bear, he tries to reveal himself as the real sleuth, but everyone is so convinced of Holmes’ genius that they’re unable to accept the truth.
