Special Book Sale Art Exhibit:

In honor of Women's History Month, The Burke Branch will feature the award-winning tapestry entitled "Women from the Dawn of Time". This work is a large cross-stitch piece highlighting 216 women throughout history who have made major contributions to numerous fields.  Anita Barondes, who lives in Alexandria and volunteers for the Burke Branch Friends group, took four years to research, design, and stitch the tapestry.  This stunning piece was awarded a first-place prize and The People Choice Award at the prestigious Woodlawn Needlework Show in 2021.

Stop by during the book sale to view this tapestry and bid on the silent auction items showing the image of "Women from the Dawn of Time".
