Join us for a multicultural poetry reading that celebrates our celestial neighbor, the moon!
All over the globe, everyone sees and is inspired by the same moon, its beauty and phases and pull on the tides and our thoughts. Come to this event to listen to poems about the moon, or come as a reader! Bring your own poems—or those by other poets—in English and in other languages to read together. Translations would be helpful, but you can also simply tell us what your poem is about before reading it in your language. Bring poems in Spanish, Amharic, Vietnamese, Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, Pashto, Dari, Swahili, Tagalog, Korean, Chinese languages, French, German, Hebrew, Turkish, and so much more!
Please register to read one or more poems and tell us the language you'll read in.
This reading is sponsored by Beatley Central Library and hosted by Alexandria Poet Laureate Zeina Azzam.
We look forward to seeing you and hearing poems from all around the world!
