Fair Trade for the Holidays
From Ten Thousand Villages
Tuesday, December 06
6:30pm - 7:30pm
Kate Waller Barrett Branch Library
Second FloorKate McMahon of Ten Thousand Villages on King Street (the only location in the Metro area) will explain the concept of 'fair trade" and bring sample products from all over the world.
Whichever holiday you celebrate, Ten Thousand Villages has a plethora of fair trade products for your gift list. Learn what "fair trade" is and how it benefits the makers in earning a fair, living wage. Handcrafted items found at Ten Thousand Villages include jewelry, baskets, rugs, clothes, toys, and kitchen items and more.
From the Ten Thousand Villages website:
"As a pioneer of fair trade, we do business differently, putting people and planet first. That means you can trust that every purchase and donation you make directly impacts the life and community of its maker in a developing country. Together we break the cycle of generational poverty and ignite social change. #LiveLifeFair"
Registration is requested but not required.
