Please join us for a virtual conversation with author Huda Fahmy, whose graphic novels demonstrate humor’s ability to bring us together, no matter how different we may appear on the surface.
Huda Fahmy's newest book, "Huda F Are You?" is a fictionalized memoir about moving to Dearborn, Michigan with her parents and four sisters. Finding herself in a school where she is no longer the only hijabi girl, Huda comes to terms with how she feels about her family, her faith, and how she defines herself.
Huda Fahmy has loved comics since she was a kid. She attended the University of Michigan where she majored in English. She taught English to middle and high schoolers for eight years before she started writing about her experiences as a visibly Muslim woman in America and was encouraged by her older sister to turn these stories into comics. Huda, her husband Gehad, and their sons reside in Houston, Texas.
