Dr. Peter Wallenstein joins us in a conversation about his book, "Race, Sex, and the Freedom to Marry: Loving v. Virginia."

Dr. Peter Wallenstein joins us in a conversation about Race, Sex, and the Freedom to Marry: Loving v. Virginia, his book about the pivotal court case that ended the invalidation, even criminalization, of marriages between people identified as "Black" and those classified as "White." Hear more about this landmark Supreme Court ruling, the circumstances that led up to it and the people who made it happen, and how it freed all people and changed a nation.

Peter Wallenstein is a professor of history at Virginia Tech. His work emphasizes the South in general, Virginia in particular, from Civil War to civil rights.
