Start the New Year right with a resolution to reduce stress by joining us for a guided program through meditation and yoga.
Shireen Lewis, Integral Yoga Hatha and Stress Management Teacher, will guide the attendees through this 45-minute class new strategies to establish and maintain a continuous sense of peace, resiliency and hope as we move into 2021. She will focus on cultivating a daily practice of centering, deep breathing, dynamic stretches (chair yoga), brief meditations and imagery.
Dr. Shireen Lewis is the Executive Director of EduSeed and Founder of EduSeed's SisterMentors program. She has devoted over 20 years to mentoring and coaching women and girls. Dr. Lewis has received many awards for her work, including honorary degrees from Rutgers University and Hollins University, a Women Making a Powerful Difference Award from Ebony magazine and Pine Sol, and the Honorable Annice M. Wagner Pioneer Award from the Bar Association of the District of Columbia. Dr. Lewis earned her Ph.D. in French Literature from Duke University and her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
