A special presentation for Women's History Month.
When we think of the American Civil War, we often think of the blue and the gray; of the North and the South; of those who defended the union and those who claimed to defend states’ rights. Doubtless, we remember the men who fought on the battlefields across the North, South, and West and the politicians who shaped these battles with their words. But what about the women whose lives were influenced by the decisions of others? Listen as Sarah Brady introduces you to two remarkable women with stories of the American Civil War.
Sarah Brady is a storyteller, teaching artist, and writer. Prior to becoming a professional storyteller, she taught communication and theatre at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. Sarah tells stories in the United Kingdom and United States, working with such entities as Arts for Learning--Virginia; Essex Cultural Diversity Project; Epic Tales; the White Rose Project; and the Suffolk Archives.
