Things changed rapidly in the late 1900s and by 2000, with CSX and Norfolk Southern in charge of freight service, Potomac Yards was no longer needed. A shopping mall, apartments, and townhouses now dot the area once occupied by the rail yard. The talk will detail the above timeline as well as discuss possible changes the future may bring.
