Second FloorJoin us for the reading of a proclamation from the Virginia House of Delegates marking the 80th Anniversary of the Alexandria Library Sit-In at 6 pm, followed by a 6:30 screening of Out of Obscurity.
This documentary by Matt Spangler features the events of the Library Sit-In on August 21, 1939 at the Barrett Library, a protest believed to be one of the first of its kind in the century. A reception with treats, anniversary pins and postcards will follow.
