In celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Alexandria Library Sit-In, the first known sit-in of the civil rights era, the library will screen films that celebrate black history and civil rights.
Mr. Woodley was a journalist for 36 years at the Farmville Herald and was presented with the George Mason Award for his lasting contribution to journalism. In "The Road to Healing" he gives us his personal story of working to make amends for a wrong committed by his newspaper employer against the African American community in Prince Edward County.
