Guaranteed to inspire enduring awe and admiration, this is the story of Tracy Edwards, a 24-year-old cook on charter boats who wanted to enter an all-female crew in the Whitbread Round-the-World Sailing race.  She overcomes extraordinary obstacles just to acquire a boat, and as any sailor will tell you about any voyage, everything that can go wrong does go wrong.  On top of all the usual hazards, she has to deal with the extreme misogyny of this male-dominated sport in the 1990s.
