Join us for a book signing and giveaway with Dr. La'Tonya Rease Miles and her new book, "Smart Girl"

Alexandria native, Dr. La'Tonya Rease Miles, will give a special hometown book signing and conversation about her journey as a first-generation college student and the power of libraries in shaping student success. Drawing from her memoir Smart Girl, she’ll share personal stories, insights on how libraries can foster belonging, and practical ways to support first-gen students in their academic and career journeys. Attendees will walk away with a deeper understanding of the first-gen experience and tangible ways to uplift and empower first-gen scholars in their own communities.
