An Afternoon of Poetry with Poet Laureate Zeina Azzam
A Fond Farewell
Saturday, April 12
2:00pm - 4:00pm
Charles E. Beatley Jr. Central Library
Large Meeting RoomOutgoing Poet Laureate of Alexandria, Zeina Azzam, will give a reading of several poems related to her service to the city of Alexandria and its citizens.
Zeina Azzam has held the title of Poet Laureate of the City of Alexandria since April 2022. Her tenure ends in April 2025, and we would like to mark her rich contributions to our city over the last three years. Join us to celebrate Zeina’s accomplishments and hear her read some of the original poems she wrote for Alexandria. There will be an opportunity for community members to offer brief reflections (or short poems!) to honor Zeina during the event. We will conclude with a reception featuring light refreshments.
