presented by Jason Ellis in partnership with the Alexandria Office of the Arts.
Join us for the "Legacy of Courage" Concert Series, celebrating the life and civil rights impact of Samuel W. Tucker who was an instrumental figure during the 1939 Alexandria Library sit-in, advocating for equal rights for all Alexandrians regardless of race.
The concert series will feature a wide variety of vocal, dance, and instrumental performances from various minority artists, celebrating the unifying power of the arts and the sobering message that evil only prevails, when good men fail to act.
This free event is open to the general public and will also host historical information from the 1939 library sit-in. It is sponsored by the City of Alexandria, Office of the Arts, and The Alexandria Library Foundation c/o The Brown Sanchez Family.
Reserve your free tickets at givebutter.com/legacyofcourage.
This event will be livestreamed on the Momentum Collective Instagram and Facebook pages.
