Join us to hear from Beck Mordini, Executive Director of Biodiversity for a Livable Planet, on how we can support natural systems to counter global warming.
As the pace of global warming increases, we are seeing the results of extreme weather and coming close to planetary tipping points. It is no longer enough to stop burning fossil fuels, we must rebuild the climate systems that human life depends on and partner with nature to create immediate cooling effects. Beck Mordini, Executive Director of Biodiversity for a Livable Climate will discuss how nature is both a carbon sink and a climate regulating system to help us deal with the effects of extreme weather. From filling our cities with tiny forests to creating fire refugia in the wild, humans can re-imagine ourselves as the keystone species that holds ecosystems together. Not to save the planet, but to protect all life on earth, including our own.
Through education, policy and outreach, Biodiveristy for a Livable Planet promotes the great potential of inexpensive, low-tech and powerful Nature solutions to the biodiversity and climate crises, and works to inspire urgent action and widespread implementation of many regenerative practices.
