Join Dr. Brenda Mitchell Powell for a discussion about library access for African Americans in the late 1930s, book banning, and criminalization of library access. She will also discuss the 1939 Sit-In and its relevance to issues of today. She is the author of "Public In Name Only," which explores the history of 1939 Sit-In and it's impact on Alexandria and the civil rights movement.
