Alexandria Celebrates Women Vice President Gayle Converse made a once-in-a-lifetime journey celebrating women's equality and history by walking from Alexandria to Richmond.
Our nation’s centuries-old journey for women’s equality took some new steps last August as Alexandria Celebrates Women Vice President Gayle Converse walked from Alexandria to Richmond, Virginia. With women’s equality, history and health front and center, Converse made the once-in-a-lifetime journey, proving "Women Go the Extra Mile.”
“We walked for women’s equality–in health care, at the ballot box and everywhere else. We honor women and girls of today and throughout history who have broken tradition, social norms, glass ceilings and "gone the extra mile.’” – Gayle Converse
