The Alexandria Library is a partner with Grow with Google, which makes tools and digital skills training easily accessible online for free. As a partner we also receive resources to teach digital skills to our community at the library.

ONLINE LEARNING

Learn practical digital skills with Grow With Google's project-based online video curriculum. You can work at your own pace and there is no charge for any of the programs. Classes are suitable for teens and adults. Complete any or all of the following programs:

Job Seekers (Code 7Q3WHD)
Lessons include: Starting and editing a resume, using Google Docs to build a resume, using Google to get a new job, negotiating your salary and effective communications at work.

Small Business (Code J3HBK7)
Lessons include: Preparing a business plan, estimating financing for your business plan, writing a business plan, tracking monthly expenses, sending professional emails, planning effective meetings and building your online business.

Students (Code MBZZ4R)
Lessons include: Building healthy digital habits, technology, ethics and security, researching and developing a topic, organizing college information in Google Sheets, designing an infographic in Google Drawings and understanding your digital footprint.

Online Safety (Code 5GWZYW)
Lessons include: Building healthy digital habits, avoiding online scams, evaluating credibility of online sources, creating and safeguarding passwords, identifying cyberbullying and understanding your digital footprint.

G Suite Certification (Code M8BMV7)
Lessons include: Learn about Docs, Drive, Gmail, Hangout, Sheets and Slides to prepare for the G Suite Certification exam.

Instructions:

  • You will need a computer with internet access
  • A Google account.
  • Go to https://g.co/applieddigitalskills.
  • Click "Sign In" and sign in with your Google account.
  • Select "I am a student."
  • Enter the class code above.
  • Click on a lesson and go!
