Public Art
Garden Planting Party
Saturday, October 15
10:00am - 1:00pm
Ellen Coolidge Burke Branch Library
OutdoorsHelp us plant native shrubs that will make our public art pop!
Join our garden party where we will be planting the native darling, Little Henry-Sweetspire- Itea virginica in the garden plot directly in front of Burke's new public art. Itea virginica is a fantastic, scented, slow-growing, pollinator-loving shrub. This plant has beautiful white flowers in early summer and deep red-orange color in fall and winter.
This is a great group event, so invite your friends, family, and garden club to join in the outdoor fun.
Stay after the planting for refreshments and lawn games like corn hole, giant checkers, connect 4 and more!
*Please bring gloves, trowels, shovels and other gardening equipment, if you have them. Not to worry if you don’t have this equipment, as there will be extra equipment on hand.
Registration is recommended.
