Ready your ingredients and get ready to bake along at home! Learn how to make a delicious cookie themed for All Alexandria Reads.

To celebrate All Alexandria Reads this year, let's look at all of the good things fire can do! We will be using our ovens to make S'mores Cookies.  Alexandria small business owner Amy DuVall of from politics to pastry will bake with you in real time and show you how to make these delicious treats step by step, while sharing helpful baking and kitchen tips along the way. 

In this class, you get to bake along at home with Amy, who will instruct you live on Zoom. Have the following ingredients ready to go:

1 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Salt
8 tbsp Unsalted Butter, softened
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
8 Graham Crackers crushed into crumbs (should yield about 1 cup)
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
12 Large Marshmallows, cut in half crosswise (yielding 24 pieces)
24 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped (milk or dark — your choice!)

You will need the following tools to bake along at home:

Stand Mixer with paddle attachment (hand mixer can also work)
2 Cookie Sheet Trays
Parchment paper or non-stick sheet tray liners for cookie sheet trays
Whisk
One medium mixing bowl
Three small bowls (cereal/soup size)
Spatula
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons
1 tbsp cookie scoop/ice scream scoop
Knife (regular silverware size)
Oven
Oven mits/potholders
