Together, we’ll explore the benefits of flowering plants, including herbs, to help support the pollinators we depend on. Then, taking recycled materials, you’ll design your own potted herb garden.
Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and other insects help to keep the ecosystems in our communities running smoothly. Help out these beneficial creatures by making your home-space a stop on their day. First, we’ll discuss why these pollinators are necessary and look at what we can do to support a healthy environment. Then, we’ll get the opportunity to paint and design an herb garden that will fit anywhere.
Don’t have an outside space where you can put your garden? You can still make a garden for your home and we’ll think of some other ways you can benefit the environment around you.
Do you have a passion about a particular pollinator or plant? Please share with us in the discussion! Reach out to Megan at mzimmerman@alexlibraryva.org.
In case of rain, we will be indoors.
