Our All Alexandria Reads choice depicts a fire at the LA Public Library. The Georgetown Branch of the DCPL also had a catastrophic fire. Librarian Jerry McCoy will describe the recovery.

Jerry McCoy, a librarian at the DC Public Library’s Peabody Room and Washingtoniana, will discuss the April 30, 2007 Georgetown Neighborhood Library fire and the efforts undertaken to salvage the contents of its Peabody Room, a special collections of Georgetown Neighborhood History.
