In this one-hour webinar, Valoria Walker presents the significance of advance care planning, how to start conversations, who is your healthcare agent, and why we don’t plan.

If you become unable to speak for yourself, advance care planning empowers you to have a say about your healthcare choices. Advance Care Planning helps guide the medical decisions of your family and doctors and diminishes the burden of guessing what type of care you would want. It increases the likelihood that those who are taking care of you will know how to honor your wishes.

In this one-hour webinar, Valoria Walker presents the significance of advance care planning, how to start conversations, who is your healthcare agent, and why we don’t plan. Some presentation content is related to COVID-19. This webinar includes a 50-minute informational session with 10-minutes for Q&As.

Valoria Walker is an End of Life Doula and founder of Aging Adult Services LLC, dba Doula by Destiny to increase the awareness of end of life care options. As the respite caregiver, Valoria witnessed the gaps in care and communication during her mother’s final months of living. Valoria’s family thought they were prepared, but the hospice caregiving to her mother lead to a negative experience. Valoria often reflected on the circumstances that occurred while her mother was under hospice care, and was determined to save individuals and families from experiencing the negative end of life care. She speaks as an ambassador to promote The End of Life Doula Movement. She educates communities on the significance of planning for the end of life care to achieve comfort and peace at the end of life. She received her training as an End of Life Doula from the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA). Valoria continues to help families by volunteering at various hospice facilities to stay connected to her calling and the community.  Find Valoria at her website: https://www.doulabydestiny.com/
