What are the realistic and beneficial applications for drones? What regulations should be in place to integrate drones into everyday life?
In this talk, Mark Blanks, Director, Virginia Tech Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership, addresses how drones are getting more sophisticated and more capable, graduating from hobbyistsʼ novelty to a powerful tool for multiple industries, and beginning to enter the framework of traditional aviation.
Mark is the leading expert on aerial drones and this fall launched the first drone delivery network, in partnership with WING, a division of Alphabet Corp., in Christiansburg, VA. Mark was also recently named by Virginia Business Magazine as one of the top 100 Virginians to meet in 2020.
Presented by Virginia Tech and the Alexandria Library and hosted by Port City Brewing Company at 3950 Wheeler Avenue in Alexandria.
This event is free to attend. Registration is preferred.
