Survival Sewing at Burke Branch

Need to sew a button that came off a shirt? Do you have a hem that's coming loose? What about the seam that's ripped open? Learn how to sew all these things as members of the Alexandria Seamsters teach "Survival Sewing" on Monday, October 20, 7:30 p.m. at Burke Branch. Bring a garment that needs a little repair and we'll show you how to do it. Or, just come to learn the skill. We'll provide the supplies for your lesson so you can learn how to make some of these small garment fixes by hand. Open to all adults and teens.

In addition to hosting storytimes, movies, bookclub discussions, staff picks and book displays; various artifacts and items from library staff’s personal cultural experiences and/or international travel have been assembled for a rotating cultural display.
